About Larry Glick

Photography has always been a part of my life. While in college, I was hired by the Boston Red Sox as a sports photographer,  capturing  the  action  on  the  field  for their Yearbook magazine. After a hiatus of some years, I  found  my  way  back  behind  the  lens.  It  has  been  a happy  reunion  inspired  by  the  natural  beauty  of Martha’s  Vineyard  and  my  desire  to  share  it  with others. I enjoy telling a story through my photos.

When  I shoot my eye goes  to elements of light, color, shape, and texture. I enjoy the discovery of an unusual angle or perspective on my subject of interest. I aim to capture a very particular, yet fleeting moment in time – often drawn from the shifting images of the natural world – the  sun  rising  or  setting,  reflections  in  the water’s current, fog setting in.

It  has  been  a pleasure  to  have  my  work  shown  in  publications  and  galleries  on  Martha’s Vineyard and  to  have  received  recognition in  several juried  photography  competitions. Publications contributing photographer to the Vineyard Gazette (2019to  present), Martha’s  Vineyard  Island  Guide  (cover  photos in  2019,  2021,  2022 &  2024), Cape Cod Life Magazine and Welcome to Martha’s Vineyard Guidebook. Gallery  showings  include  Island  Art/Kennedy  Studios,  Vineyard  Decorators,  Old  Sculpin  Gallery, as well as work displayed at Hob Knob Hotel, Fish MV, Right Fork Diner and  The Martha’s  Vineyard  Hospital  – Permanent  Collection.  Recognition  received  in  Martha’s Vineyard Magazine annual photography contest, 2018-2023, with a 1st Place  Award for best overall photo in 2023 and Cape Cod Life annual photography contest,  First Place Award, Cape Characters, 2022, First Place Award, Seascapes 2023.
