About Nancy Motley Walton

A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, Nancy began her painting career in the mid-eighties, painting in oils in the field of decorative arts. After several years, she gravitated to watercolors, studying with Nancy Sarget Howell. Subsequently, she has studied under George Shed, portrait painter Robert Cormier, Australian painters Alvaro Castagner and Joseph Zbukvic, Mary Whyte, Paul George, John Salminen, Edward Minchin, Eric Wiegardt, Lian Quan Zhen and Andy Evanson.

Nancy believes that a successful painting is one that both pleases the eye and touches something deep within the soul of the viewer. Though primarily a representational painter, she explores different genres and subject matter, depending on what she is trying to achieve, and what catches her eye, constantly challenging herself. This has also occasionally taken her to working in oils once again, as inspiration calls.
