“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” – Dorothea Lange

Born in the United States and raised in New Zealand and Australia, my nomadic upbringing compelled me to document my life through a lens.  Largely self taught, with a B.A. in Psychology from Lehigh University (and a short career in marketing and advertising sales for media companies)  photography has always played a leading role in my life. I fell head over heels in love with New England twenty years ago and the island has been my muse ever since.

A fine artist and documentarian, my approach is similar to a street photographer’s, always looking for things that are authentic, a little different, sometimes quirky or nostalgic.  My images are honest moments, aiming to illustrate the charm, grit, and character of New England. They are an homage to my home here and a reflection of who I am.

I take great joy in giving back to this magical island and can be found capturing moments on the docks in Menemsha for the MV Fishermen’s Preservation Trust and Seafood Collaborative. Or, you might find me giddily documenting the annual Ag Fair for the MV Agricultural Society. These organizations, and the people they serve, represent what I deem to be the essence of Martha’s Vineyard.

My work has been displayed at the International Center for Photography in New York, the SONY World Photography awards in London, MV Film Center and is on permanent display at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital among others.
